Historic faith in the heart of Woodsfield.

A place where families can worship together, hear clear biblical teaching, and grow in a community learning to follow Jesus.
One church. Every generation.
The Monroe gives us a rare opportunity to gather the whole church in one room—children, students, parents, and grandparents worshiping Christ and growing together.

Families in Worship Together

Families gather side by side at The Historic Monroe Theatre to sing, pray, hear Scripture, and learn the rhythms of Christian worship together.

Clear Biblical Teaching

We teach the Bible carefully and plainly with on-screen illustrations, helping every generation understand the faith and live it in everyday life.

Growing Across Generations

Children and students are not on the edge of church life. They are known, discipled, and welcomed into a community learning to follow Jesus together.

Why We Worship Together?

Only 4 in 10 teens attend worship with both parents. Faith is not only taught. It is lived and witnessed. At Heritage, children and students are welcomed into the gathered life of the church—singing beside their families, hearing the Word of God, joining in prayer, and learning what it means to follow Jesus together.

A New Chapter at the Monroe Theatre

The Historic Monroe Theatre opened in 1939 and quickly became a gathering place for movies, live entertainment, and traveling performers. Its stage welcomed future legends such as Bill Monroe, Hank Snow, Minnie Pearl, and a young Patsy Cline. After closing in 1977, the theatre sat quiet for decades. In 2016, it was given to the Monroe Arts Council, and the work of restoring this historic landmark began. Today, the Monroe is coming alive again. Its restoration preserves an important part of our town’s history while creating space for music, the arts, community events—and now, Sunday worship. Heritage Community Church is grateful to gather in a place that has brought people together for generations. Each Sunday afternoon, the Monroe will once again be filled with voices—not only for entertainment, but for worship, prayer, biblical teaching, and genuine community. We believe the setting fits the heart of Heritage: historic faith for everyday life, gathered in the center of Woodsfield. This building carries the story of what has been, while giving us a place to serve our town and help write what comes next.
